Hand Therapy

Jill is originally from the Chicago area and earned a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Illinois in 1988. She became a Board-Certified Hand Therapist in 1994, and has specialized in upper extremity therapy since that time. She has extensive experience in the treatment of complex orthopedic trauma, post operative care, complex regional pain syndrome and burns/wound management. She is a member of the American Society of Hand Therapists and enjoys mentoring new therapists entering the field of hand therapy. Jill has been a member of the NorthSound Physical Therapy team since 2018 in our Stanwood Clinic and, as of 2023, also practices at our Snohomish Clinic. In her free time Jill enjoys hiking and traveling with her husband and friends and cheering for the Chicago Cubs.

Leah earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from University of Illinois at Chicago in 2014, and received her Certified Hand Therapist board certification in 2019. She has been a proud member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 2013, including the Academy of Hand and Upper Extremity PT. She formerly served as Treasurer and executive board member of the Academy, where she worked to raise awareness and excellence in hand therapy within the profession of physical therapy. Her clinical interests include rehabbing fingertips to shoulder and beyond, as well as kinesio taping, Yoga & mindfulness, and empowering her patients to become their own best advocates in their path from injury to recovery. When not treating and studying all things hand and upper extremity, she can be found in tree pose, working in her garden, loving on dogs of all shapes and sizes, and exploring the natural beauty of Washington’s north Puget Sound and mountains with her husband & her Dutch Shepherd.
